Joe Budden raps about hitting pregnant women.

On an underground mixtape Joe Budden rapps "Pray that she abort that if she's talkin' 'bout keepin' it/One hit to the stomach, she's leakin' it." Joe Budden told AllHipHop.com he does not support violence against women and repeated the denial on Hot 97's morning show on Friday July 2, 2004. Joe Budden told Allhiphop.com:
"When you get somebody pregnant, you can make suggestions, but the bottom line is they [women] have the end say-so," Budden said. "As a guy, you wonder 'What can I do to take that power away?' As negative as it is, that's what comes to mind. That still doesn't make [violence against women] alright and I don't support that. In Hip-Hop, we talk about reality and what is the truth and that is the truth. I might stir up a lot of confusion, but if you don't like it, turn it off."
The conservatives making an argument against this are looking for things to argue with. Most people probably never even heard this mixtape. It is quite possible that the sales of the mixtape have probably gone up from the conversation about it.

Gotta disagree. There is the risk that mixtape sales have increased, but Joe Budden needed to be put in check. The lyrics are foul (and I'm pro-choice), and he promotes violence against pregnant women. Which is an assault crime. Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from responsibility.

shut up. its a song. just because it ran through his mind and he wrote about it in a song doesn't mean he actually supports beating women.
